I felt a bit like that last Saturday, when my home town team Reading, contrived to be on the wrong end of a 7-1 result in the Championship against Norwich City at Carrow Road. On Sept 29, 2007, Reading contrived to lose 7-4 to Portsmouth in a Premier League clash at Fratton Park. It's hard to imagine, but Portsmouth, now in League Two, finished eighth in the Premier League that season. The aggregate scoreline of 11 remains the biggest in Premier League history. Watching your team lose 1-6 at home is about as bad as it gets.
